1. What is 4Element?

4Element is the jewellery admirers’ destination for easily hiring designer fashion jewellery. We go to great lengths to source and obtain the latest as well as vintage jewellery from around the globe. Many pieces are unique and very hard to find. We stock items from Chanel, Dior, Oscar de la Renta, Alexander McQueen, Miu Miu and many more… We believe 4Element jewellery to be the perfect fashion detail to make every woman’s day special.

2. How does 4Element rental scheme work?

You can rent our jewellery in two ways: either by selecting from our specified rental periods of four or eight days, or by setting up your own rental period by contacting us.

  • FOR A SPECIFIC DATE

Simply select the jewellery, click on the calendar tab and choose a delivery and a return date. Add to the basket, agree with the terms and conditions and complete your checkout using a credit/debit card. 4Element jewellery is delivered via Royal Mail or courier service (available for Londoners) to your home. Please return the item on the day or before your hire period expires. Place the jewellery in the 4Element bag, put it into the black box and pack everything into the pre-paid return envelope. Take it to the post office and send it back to us. Please don’t forget to obtain proof of postage.

  • CUSTOM RENTAL

If you need jewellery for an extended rental time please contact us on support@4element.co.uk. We’re happy to arrange this for you.

3. What should I do if the piece I want is unavailable?

4Element stocks only single items from the latest and vintage collections, therefore our jewellery has limited availability. If you want to rent an item that is unavailable on the website, please email support@4element.co.uk and we’ll try to help you.

4. Do you ship internationally?

We rent our jewellery to UK customers only. However, as we are keen to participate in your special day, please email support@4element.co.uk if you’re going to be outside the UK and we’ll do our very best to help you.

5. What if my rental period ends on a Sunday or a Bank Holiday?

When your last rental day is on a Sunday or a Bank Holiday the calendar on our website should automatically move your return date to the next working day. If your final rental day still falls on a Sunday or a Bank Holiday, please email support@4element.co.uk and send the item back to us on the next working day.

6. What if the jewellery gets dirty or damaged?

We kindly ask you to contact us immediately at support@4element.co.uk when jewellery gets damaged or dirty. Please do not try to repair it yourself. Most of our items are vintage and so they require professional care. Any incidents of damage caused are considered on a case by case basis.

7. Can I buy my rented jewellery?

Unfortunately, that’s not possible as we don’t sell our items. However, we are happy to rent your chosen item for an extended period. In this case please email support@4element.co.uk.

8. What should I do if I lose my 4Element return mailing bag?

Please email support@4element.co.uk and we’ll provide you with all the necessary information about how to send the jewellery back to us safely.

9. How many items am I allowed to rent at a time?

You can hire up to four items at a time. If you need more items than our policy allows, please don’t hesitate to contact us at support@4element.co.uk. We’ll be more than happy to help you.

10. Can I change my rental?

Any order can be changed before the item is posted to you. If you want to change your rental please contact us no later than one day before the posting-out day at support@4element.co.uk.

11. Can I cancel my rental?

Any order can be cancelled as long as it hasn’t been posted to you. If you want to cancel your rental please contact us no later than one day before the posting-out day at support@4element.co.uk.

12. How far in advance am I allowed to book jewellery for hire?

It’s down to you, although we advise you to book rental as far in advance as possible, especially when it comes to big occasions like Christmas or a New Year’s Eve party.

13. How will I know you have received my return safely?

As soon as the returned item is back with us we’ll send you an email. However, we ask you to obtain proof of postage from the post office when you send it back. This is important especially if the item should get lost. If you do not have proof of postage you may be liable for the cost of replacement.

14. What happens if I return jewellery late?

It’s important that you return jewellery on time as we hold only single stock items and other customers might be waiting for them. If you want to extend your rental period please email support@4element.co.uk as soon as possible.

15. What time will my jewellery arrive and when should I return it?

On our website you can opt to rent for four or eight days. The first day is the day you receive the jewellery, which is delivered to you before 1 p.m. The last day of your rental period is the day you need to post it back to 4Element or earlier if it is more convenient for you. If you are based in London and you’ve chosen Courier Same Day Delivery, the item should arrive with you in the morning or within two hours of the time you requested on your booking. 16. I don't like the jewellery I've rented, what should I do?

Because of the unique nature of our items 4Element does not have a returns policy. Once despatched you are liable for the full cost of the rental period. So please make sure you are hiring just the right item of jewellery. If you have any questions please contact us at support@4element.co.uk.

17. What are the delivery charges and times?

We provide two delivery options as detailed below.

  • ROYAL MAIL 1ST CLASS SIGNED FOR

The jewellery arrives with you by 1 p.m. on your first rental date. The cost for this is £6, although return is free.

  • GOPHR SAME DAY DELIVERY

If you live in London Zone 1 or Zone 2 you can choose to have your item delivered in the morning or within two hours of your booking. However, you need to book your rental before 4 p.m. to get it delivered on the same day. Delivery cost varies according to your location, although return is free.

18. What should I do if my jewellery doesn't arrive in time?

We want our customers to trust and value the service we provide, so it is our responsibility to deliver jewellery on time. Please make sure you rent in plenty of time for your special occasion – don’t leave it until the last minute. If your package does not arrive before 1 p.m on your first rental day please contact us as soon as possible at support@4element.co.uk.

19. My jewellery has just arrived, how do I know it's clean?

It is vital to 4Element that you receive items in the best condition possible. Every item is professionally cleaned by highly skilled staff before and after being sent to clients – it’s crucial that you never try to clean jewellery yourself. Please note that, as hygiene and your safety are important to us, we stock only clip-on earrings, not pierced.
